The outcome of the Paris summit is a turning point for action to limit climate change below dangerous levels. If taken seriously, the Paris commitment signals the end of business as usual for the energy industries. Future investment will need to be compatible with a zero-carbon world. Is Germany’s Energiewende (“energy transition”) a model for transition to a carbon-neutral economy? Can it provide a useful blueprint for a shift toward renewable energies in Canada? And how can Canada, with its resource-based economy, achieve the Paris goals?
Organized in cooperation with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Canada and Sustainable Prosperity.
